Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Fatescroll, operated by Borys Pinkovskyi, sole proprietor, Canada, does with your data. Short version: we collect as little as possible and never sell it.
Where your data is processed
Our servers and database run on Google Cloud (Cloud Run and Firestore, region us-central1, USA). Payments are processed by Stripe (see below).
Birth details
The free preview is computed in your browser: your birth date and time are not sent to us. The city names you type into the search box are sent to our server to look them up. Your browser keeps the details you last entered in this tab's session storage (not on our servers) so your result can come back if you cancel checkout; closing the tab clears it. We store birth data only in cases you choose:
- Checkout: when you click Buy we store the birth inputs needed to generate your story (the birth moment in UTC, the birth longitude for true solar time, whether the time was known, and your avatar settings). If you don't complete the payment, this data is deleted after 7 days.
- Paid orders keep these inputs so your link keeps working, until you ask us to delete them.
- Partner links store your computed Four Pillars and avatar and the optional first name you typed. This chart data is derived from your birth moment, and your birth date and time can be reconstructed from it. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it only with your partner. Partner links are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Payments and email
Stripe processes payments and collects your email and card details on its own checkout page; we never see your card. Stripe uses your email to send the receipt. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Analytics
We record pseudonymous usage events (e.g. "page viewed", "result viewed", "buy clicked") with a random id kept in your browser's local storage. Events never include birth details, names or emails. When you buy, your order records this id, so your events are linked to your order. We use no advertising cookies.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting keeps request logs (including your IP address, browser type and the addresses you request, such as the city search text). They are kept by Google Cloud Logging for up to 30 days, for security and troubleshooting.
Third parties
No other third parties receive your data.
Retention and your rights
Unpaid checkout data: 7 days. Paid orders and partner links: until you ask us to delete them. Server logs: up to 30 days. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its policy. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time: hello@wanderstar.app. We reply within 30 days.
