What saju sees in 甲
Saju pictures 甲 as a tall tree: one straight trunk, deep roots and a crown that keeps climbing. It is the first of the ten stems, so the tradition ties it to beginnings, early spring and the urge to go first.
A tree stays where it is planted. Saju reads that as loyalty and a firm sense of right and wrong, and also as a stubborn streak: 甲 bends late, if at all.
Saju teachers often say a big tree needs three things: water at the roots, sun on the leaves and, in time, a carpenter's axe (metal) that turns a trunk into useful timber. In that picture, well-placed pressure is what shapes 甲.

Is The Tall Tree the same as being born in a Wood year?
No. The Wood of a birth year is the year element most zodiac sites give. Your Day Master is the top character of your day pillar, so it comes from the day you were born. Someone born in a Wood year can have any of the ten Day Masters.
