What saju sees in 乙

Saju pictures 乙 as the soft side of wood: vines, grass and flowers. Where 甲 grows straight up, 乙 grows around. It finds the gap in the wall, the patch of light, the support it can climb.

The tradition reads that as tact and staying power. Grass bends in a storm and is still there after it. The flip side is leaning: a vine looks for something to hold, and it doesn't always pick well.

Classical texts say 乙 does well tied to a tall tree (甲) and likes fire for warmth. On cold, wet ground, they say, even a strong vine struggles.

No. The Wood of a birth year is the year element most zodiac sites give. Your Day Master is the top character of your day pillar, so it comes from the day you were born. Someone born in a Wood year can have any of the ten Day Masters.
