Saju pictures 丁 as the small fire: a candle, a lamp, a star at night. Where 丙 lights the whole sky, 丁 lights one room, and it does that best when it's dark.
The tradition reads 丁 as focus, warmth up close and a sharp inner eye. A candle burns quietly for a long time. The weak spot is the draft: moods around 丁 can make the flame flicker.
Classical texts call 丁 soft on the outside and bright within: strong without burning, weak without going out. With 甲 wood to feed it, they say, it can shine even in autumn and winter.

Is Candlelight the same as being born in a Fire year?
No. The Fire of a birth year is the year element most zodiac sites give. Your Day Master is the top character of your day pillar, so it comes from the day you were born. Someone born in a Fire year can have any of the ten Day Masters.
How do I know if I'm a Yin Fire Day Master?
Enter your birthday in the Day Master calculator. It reads the date at noon, which settles it for almost everyone. If you were born between 10 pm and 2 am, add your birth time and city, because true solar time can move a late-night birth into the next or previous day.
